Where I'm Really From | AAF

Travel posters that celebrate belonging in the AAPI community. Made at Droga5 NY for the Asian American Federation.

Travel posters that show where Asian Americans are really from.

Getting asked where you’re really from in your own hometown is all too common in the AAPI community. So to raise money for the Asian American Federation, we turned ten Asian American stories into travel posters that appear to depict faraway destinations—until a closer look reveals they’re actually vibrant, personal, and surreal illustrations of US cities.

From Olympian Apolo Ohno's Seattle to novelist Kevin Kwan's Houston to hate crime survivor Noel Quintana's NYC, every poster is an American city from an Asian American POV.

✏️ Recognized with a yellow D&AD yellow pencil, a gold One Show pencil & coverage in Comm Arts, It’s Nice That, Creative Review, Muse by Clio, AdWeek, and NBC.
